The rear shock is highly likely to have passed its best 26000 miles ago!
Tenere's suffer from lack of grease (from new) in headraces, wheel bearings and shock linkage. If its been serviced regularly and properly it won't necessarily be a problem, but I'd give it a good check for excess play in those areas.
