Ok where to start..
more surface area = less ground pressure...
Wide tyre rolls around on a lose surface , a norrow
tyre cuts though the lose top into the harder base
under it...
Wide tyres at lower pressures are harder to lean..
Wide tyres work better in mud/sand etc as they want to
sit on the surface...
Smoothish wide tyres are best for sand as they pack the
sand under them..deep treads work like shovels & move
the sand..' I'm talking beaches..sand dunes require a very deep
paddle style tyre..
So select tyres for your use/terrain not by size only..
one tyre size dosn't fit all siturations..
on gravel a norrow ADV road tyre is as good as a wide knobbly.."better"
If you are rideing seal a wide tyre at higher psi is best...
