Hi J-P-W. The reg was a second hand job - �20. Plenty of them around, basically any of the fazer ones will do as long as they have the 5 wires, three white and red and black ones.

I cannot take credit for this mod as I only copied it from Bernard, but just wanted to move it as my personal opinion is that it's just not right to put sucjh an important item in such a vulnerable position and the size of the pins is just plain bad design.

The white wires can be connected in any order according to Bernard so I just took his advice and did the same.

I kept checking the voltage at all stages of the operation and have noticed in my writeup that I should have mentioned that when revving the voltage will go up to just over 14 when all of my 'appliances' are on full load.
At tickover with them all on it will go down to about 13.6.

I have a Gammatronix LED wired into my bikes' system which shows the voltage output from the battery and it didn't go down to Orange all weekend, which would have indicated less than 13 volts. So a big plus for this mod and I'm happier that it's out of the water spray.
