         Thanks buddy - that makes sense. Checking the service manual, I see the standard IAT sensor spec is 2.21 - 2.69K ohms at 20C. Being a NTC (negative temperature coefficient) device, the resistance rises as the temperature falls so we need a higher resistance to "fool" the ECU into thinking the air is colder and needs more fuel. Yep, that all makes sense now.
