But surely never as stupid as what a friend of mine did? (And "friend of mine" really ISN'T me). His Garmin car charger wasn't working so he cut off the cigarette lighter fitting and wired on a mains 3 pin plug to charge it. Guess what happened when he put it in the wall socket!
