Is this down to my style of riding having come from sports bikes or is this expected from the standard Pirelli's?

How on earth have you managed to get 1800 miles out of one of those,my original didn't go 1200 and it was completly scrap.

The bad news I've never had a bike like this XT for eating tyres,it's not really the bikes fault, just the way it can be ridden, with 3500 miles on the clock I'd done 3 rears and 2 fronts, managed to stop the rot with Road Smarts, the Mich 03's wear better but don't turn anywhere near as quick as a RS.

What ever you go for just make sure they are dual compound, they'll never last otherwise.
