The MTC is definitely louder. I'd say it makes the bike sound more or less like a big trailie from a decade or so ago - as others have said, a really bassy sound, rather than a modern sewing machine bike it is.
Still quieter than any enduro bike though.
I blocked the AIS while fitting mine, so I've traded a bit more noise on an open throttle for not sounding like half a dozen shotguns going off when I close the throttle
