I did it! Watching a few youtube how-to's taught me what I needed to know. It's still difficult to compensate the extra 4cm, but I managed somehow. The trick is indeed pulling UPwards, not BACKwards. I do have to grab the side case bars in stead of the grey plastic bars. (It's easier on my back that way)
Taking it off the center stand is still a bit tricky. But I'm sure i'll find a more gentle way to do it..
