Without wanting to sound like a tw....t, the best way to avoid this is to avoid motorways. It's a long and arduous lesson to learn, and comes with miles and experience, but you get so much more out of being on the bike when you start your journey at your front door (rather than a motorway dash to Cumbria/Scotland etc) and take the B and C roads. Yes it adds days to your trip, but I've found, and many will agree, it's all about the journey not the destination (a bit like life).

Slow down, take the long way round, and you even see stuff in your own town/village/city , that you may well have missed for years. Your license will thank you too.

On a more practical note, I did find on the Varadero, that a bigger screen didn't mean better. I remember paying Stupid for a Touratech screen, which was actually worse than the original, then I lowered the original and got better airflow.

It could be your lid too, the Mx lid has a longer peak than road lids, so more to catch the air.

anyway, back to for me... and my useless advice.
