i still run the varadero ..the standard screen is too small and its pitch is wrong
you can get brackets to hang on the o/e fixing holes and bolt any screen you want on ... mine is a givi vee strom screen with a mra wing [surprise surprise ]
the varadero standard screen is just as bad as the teneres ..so in effect you have to alter it or live with it ..the mra wing makes a huge difference but only if you get the right screen height and the right pitch
it is now absalutly brilliant ..you really would be amazed how good this set up is ... and alsao very strange looking too
i would say the vara is a great touring bike but if i want some fun the tenere is the winner hands down
...dont be put off by a screen thats simple to fix and it really is
