I did this last year Sold a Africa Twin and bought a Tenere.

If this helps in my experience.....

I'm the same hight as you and find that on the Tenere your legs are in a better postion than on the Africa Twin on very long runs, but that does put more weight on to your back side.

If your doing more road miles then the Africa Twin is by far the better bike
If however you intend to take your bike off road quite a bit then the Tenere is the better bike.

The Tenere motor does gets better after 10,000 miles , but you will still need to work the gear box more than you would on the Africa Twin
There is also more room on the Tenere for a pillion.

I have been thinking of going back to a V twin because I miss the feel of the Africa Twins motor as it suits my riding style better, but that said I know that whats on the market wont be as good off road as the Tenere is..
