Ha! It's even more drastic than that!

The plan is to remove the whole subframe just after the point the top frame tubes meet the lower tubes, particularly as the angle of the lower tubes is the perfect angle and spacing for the one-piece fender/side panels (can you guess what it's from yet*?!) - saving a huge hunk of weight, plus lowering the whole rear end about 4-5 inches - making it much easier to get on and off!

Then create a new brace across the frame behind the airbox, with the requisite tabs on the frame for mounting the fender...

Finally, modify a stock seat-base to have a tapered seat that fits over the aperture in the fender (*where the fuel filler would go - yes, you guessed it x)
