On our last few trips into the Outback we have used Pirelli MT21's and Dunlop D606's. I had the MT21's on my R while Richard used the D606's on his Tenere.
Both types seemed to perform fairly well with reasonable milage and good offroad performance - allbeit mainly in the dry so to speak. The D606's do seem to be a bit more meaty than the MT21's - especially on the rear.
At the moment I am currently running Heidenau K60's and Richard has Mefo Explorers - both of these selections are obviously aimed at a more realistic 50/50 riding combination.
Quoted prices seem reasonable.
Hope this helps.
