If you PM me your email address I will let you know when it happens again next year. It will be a different route every year. The ruts look worst then they were, the freshly cut grass on top of the grass was more of a hazard, it would have been a totally different ball game through if it had been wet. Scott from this forum and his friends did it also.
It is done by invite only and is for charity (help the heroes) and is usally limited to about 35 riders in total and you ride at your own pace stop when you want to and only do has much as you feel up to.
I hope to do it again next year and then change my bike (gsa1200) which could have done most of the last redball run, there was an older guy who was on a 1100gs who was doing well until day 2 when he hit a tree stump on one particular lane which was full of tree sumps to be fair and knocked the near side pot head back abit which David Lambeth (overland adventurers) fixed for him on the trail
