You have not said which XT & what year?

On a XTX & XTR.

Locate the left bar switch wiring loom, cut the Blue/White wire & add a 10 Amp water proof switch between the cut wires. You now can turn the head light on & off using this switch.

Not sure why you want this switch, as the XT turns the head light off when the starter switch is pushed.

Justed checked the XTZ, it is also a Blue/White wire.
