              For info, the reason it has the two threaded holes is because the same sprocket is also used on the FMX650 (and maybe the dommie), and Honda use a splined plate to hold on their front sprockets - far easier to change the 'long bar/heavy mate' method required for Yamaha (and Suzuki)...

         i had an early suzuki GSX once with that splined plate on the front sprocket. not a great idea imo as they allow a bit of movement which eventually wears out the countershaft.
