Svele, they are pretty solid and I'd say they would cope well on a low speed drop...not so sure at speed though.

CCA posted a link in my thread, not sure if you saw his version. It's similar to mine with another bracket to the other exhaust clamp, but without the bracket to the passenger footpeg. If you made a set with all three brackets, possibly using slightly thicker rods, you would have a solid rack offering decent protection. Post some pics if you do make some
