that works, but if you forget to turn off your GPS while stopping for lunch, it might drain your battery,or (what happened to me with my old Garmin 2720) a short circuit in the GPS mount could have the same effect, even without you using the Zumo.

There's a simple solution to this: hook it up directly to the battery, with a proper fuse obviously, and use a relay hooked up to the something like the parking light.
