It would probably be best if everyone refrained from purchasing the Yamaha genuine engine protection bars for their Tenere as they end up cracking and cause the frame to start cracking also. I did the trip with Luke and there were a few problems with the bike one being that the air filter lets dust in and going through Congo you cant avoid dust. So now they are assessing the engine back here in Australia, Yamaha South Africa were the first to put a tech bulletin out about this and were we annoyed about this issue. Stop in Congo to do maintenance and find the filter housing full of dust, not good. Apart from a few other minor things the bike was great, the suspension was great considering the knocks it took from pot holes everywhere.
