cheers all for the replies, I guess it's the joy of not having a garage anymore and using the bike in all weather. so I will try to dig out/buy some scotch pads and have ago again.

Darren- I may have mislead you, the caliper doesn't move fore and aft as such just kinda rocks side to side more than I thought it should and never noticed really any movement in it till now, but maybe I'm not used to nice new parts that move freely rather than the solid , use to float type of caliper caked in years of dust, rust and grime eh!!!

Will have it looked at though next time it see's a garage
