         Then I had too much time and too many ideas. I thought I could modify it to give storage space both above and below the rack:
         
         
        
         
         A trip - actually many trips - to the hardware store to pick up the right size brackets, screws and bolts, and to a outdoor store to pick up a 5 litre ortlieb waterproof bag:
         
         
        
         
         I had thought about a regular tailbag, but it's important that the bag is easily accessible via the narrow opening of the jacked-up rack, an ortlieb bag is perfect. The height is a personal choice in which it doesn't look too out of place to me and it still keeps the 'line' from the seat.
         
         
        
         
         A shiny silver Pete's rack on top of a black bag helps to camouflage a bit. So now I can store the essential tools in that bag, allowing easy access, and I can still put a rear tailbag or something on top of the rack.
