negative on both accounts. If you want mag type rims on your bike you need to buy Marchesini wheels but.... $$$$

How about getting some XTX wheels and using them. There are a few people on this forum who have done this and its suppose to be simple to do and would be alot cheaper

Anything is possible with the right approach, I say the 06 R1/R6 rims would be to wide for the XT's swinging arm.

I would look at something like a SV wheels or simular wheel width.

You would need to remove your XT wheel & measure the center wheel/rim line to the center sprocket line, this is the most important measurement in finding the right rear mag wheel, the sprocket would need to modified to fit the new wheel. Then you would need to measure the outer wheel bearing to outer sprocket housing bearing distance between the wheels, spacers can be made to adjust the distance between the swinging arm & bearings. Setting the rim center line is critical.

The front is like wise the same as the rear, one needs to make sure the brake disc & rim center in are with in a few mm the brake caliper will adjust the brake disc center line if it is out by a few mm, the 320mm front brake disc would need to be modified to fit the new whell. Then space the rim to the center line of the bike with new machined spacers.

There you go, the theory side of the mod.:typing[1]:

The MT-03 wheels are no good Kev cause the front one has got twin disc brakes. Maybe he can get away with the rear one but not the front one and definately not the R1 wheels also twin discs and much wider. :003:

Unbolt one disc & leave it off.:Nurse_KGBJ5I: Seen it been done a few times.

I see... wow you learn something new every day, but what about balancing wouldn't that make the hub heavier on one side more than the other?

Nope it will work just fine, just like the XT standard wheel, only one disc. :035:

Marchesini front wheel won't fit.
