How many extra horse power will you have at the end in total? :eusa_shifty: |
just 68HP and 77Nm torque
|
To get more then that you will need a bigger cam, big valve head, stage 3 air box, higher compression piston ratio & a stroker crank then you will see the late 70hp mark as proven in the Raptors.
There are a few builds on the go at the moment so we hope to get the first XT over 70HP soon. |

I am looking into a Big Bore project, has anyone in the UK done one?
Initially, I am looking into costs/what I need, and also any feedback. i.e. does the bike vibrate alot more? Any downsides to the conversion? |
It does not vibrate much more, you can get the crank & piston balanced for around US$150 if you are worried about it.
There are only a hand full of riders in the world that have done a XT660 big bore, so don't expect a big responce. You should have bought my big bore kit that I sold in June, a 102mm Raptor cylinder & XT660 ported head for 250 pounds. |
250...don't!! i didn't have the XT then, but would have bought it!
|
There was a dealer selling a head & cylinder for a XT660 on Spain I will see if I can find them again, they wanted 250 pounds for them. They have a used XT660 crank for me, but wanted to much for it so I gave them the flick.

A Standard head/cylinder Kev? Thank you.
Kev, I don't want to lose the lovely "drivability", so would you recommend a 700cc /? I am just after a small gain through 3000-6000 revs .....I don't want to go too extreme! (gets expensive and more "racy"!) |
