I've just picked mine up, and love everything about it apart from the elephant trunk rear end!

I read that Off-the-road might be developing a rear fender replacement (rather than cutting up the undoubtedly expensive Yamaha original) and I emailed them with regards to integrating the indicators into the individual rear light lenses - neat huh?

However, they inform me that it wouldn't be 'legal' in Europe?! (or at least were OTR are...) - although since when has that bothered bikers?!

Anyway, I've emailed Clear Alternatives in the US (I have one of their combined LED tail/indicator units on my Ducati Monster) to see if they would be interested in developing something for the Tenere. I know it's not a US model (yet), but reckon they would have a large market overseas...

It also happens that I'll be taking my Tenere over to Las Vegas in the next couple of months, so they would have something to work with...

What do you guys think?

Integrate the rear indicators into the twin tail lights, and attach the number plate to the panel below the lamps (which happens to be exactly the right size for a US numberplate btw.)... job done?

That explains pretty much everything... the company who make the elecropods also make the LED 'indicator strips' as a pair...

Fitting is a bit fiddly - you have measure the hole centres carefully (bearing in mind you need to bend the strip in two planes in the middle) and I found that heating up the silicon strip in bowl of hot water helped fitting them into the recess. Then you secure them with clear silicon sealant.

Also, you'll need to get one of those flasher relays specifically for LEDs - the Motrax one for Kawasaki's is a direct replacement (connector fits the loom)for the one under the seat, although it is a different shape so you'll have to jiggle the rubber mounting around, but it does fit.

Good luck... (or just wait until CA sort out the combi tail light?)
