Gary

If you want to see it in the flesh then i'm sure I'll be out over the weekend, maybe a cuppa at the Ponderosa?

Or pop into your local Hein Gericke they have started stocking Kriega stuff.

Nick.

This is what I see when I look down from the balcony. We still technically have winter, but from the weather forecast it looked like we should have "spring like temperatures" during the easter weekend. This was what we got. Guess I'll take a protest ride with the bike later anyway. =|

I rode down the hill a little to try and break the bead, and stopped right by this handy rock, thank goodness!:

Only problem was, I just couldn't get the bloody bead broken and the tyre off the rim...

So how did I sort it? (clearly I did, as there is no internet hook up in the middle of the desert x) - you'll have to wait for TBM to find out I'm afraid...

The same thing happened to me yesterday in the wilds of Kent :)

Didn't have any problems with the bead ................ after pulling out the 2 inch nail and riding a couple of metres the bead had broke leaving me no choice but to change the tube.

Hardest part was re-fitting the back wheel, spacers, axle and brake caliper, what a bloody awkward job that is with the bike laying on it's side or upright for that matter.............got any tips for that JMo? Luckily a chap had stopped to help so I had the required second pair of hands. In the hour I spent there I reckon 10 people stopped to offer help, spent half that time chatting with them.

So can you reveal the bead breaking secret yet?

Oooh, I hate to see them on their side, and especially when you've had to lay the thing down yourself...

Regarding refitting the wheel, having had five rear tyres and four fronts in the last six months, I'm kinda getting used to it now - but you're right, I find it either goes straight in first time, or takes ages wiggling and dropping the spacer out - I guess it's just luck!

As for my own bead breaking saga, you wouldn't believe it, but let's just say that when you consider where I got the puncture, there was an exceptional amount of luck that afternoon...

I only know that the weight is negligibly different from stock. The rest I speculate that there won't be much difference as it's marketed by Yamaha when the bike was right out of the gate.

Next time, Gibbs, try to put your post on relevant subject area, say "Exhaust" on the front page of Tenere category, so you may get more response that way.
