The numbers are the most important bit, they form the generic paint code (to give to a paint supplier for a match), the letters are used by Yamaha (so give them to your lazy dealer!)

Nice one, i phoned and the body shop phoned yam uk, and were told that they couldnt get the paint code, body shop got excellent match though so werent to bothered in the end, but yam uk were a waste of grub!

I suppose it depends on your normal riding/driving environment. Given that London & the SE has become a wash with high viz LED fairy lights and yellow jackets (me included) there is no substitue for observation and forward planning. And we all know that if it could happen, it will.
