I have to say, i've done a fair bit if MX and found wavy discs do wear pads a bit quicker (but not a huge amount) than standard, but if you are going offroad on your bike, they clear the mud and crud off the disc much quicker than on a round disc when breaking. Road wise, I wouldn't bother.
