The delivery guy swam up to my front door and gave me an electronic receipt device to sign and swam back to his van. I knew he was coming because of the online Parcelforce tracking system which told me that it had gone from Coventry - 32 miles north of me - to Oxford - 29 miles south of me - and would be delivered sometime today. That's the 48 hour delivery - maybe the 24 hour delivery goes direct.

The precipitation here is noticeable - not so much as South Wales - but noticeable. It may be a while before I can report on the efficacy of the EBC HH sintered pads.

The EBC HH sintered bedded in nicely in the wet - I think the disc being kept cool by the rain saw to that. Stopping power close to perfect - not too keen and the little flex from the rubber brake line just enough to warn of approaching lock-up. I shall not be fitting braided hoses which I am sure would not give that warning.

Considering changing to dot 5 - a big step because I believe it's difficult to change back - silicone on all surfaces etc. but my son says it worked wonders for his TRX850 with Kevlar brake lines. Not convinced yet.

It's one thing to stop a sports bike with an average rider weight but quite another stopping a heavier bike with a very much heavier rider and a smaller brake disc area. Even if I could do the maths I am not sure I would trust them to give me the confidence I want.

If you have a strong grip then these pads can give 'the feel'.

I want to bring this thread back to the front of the section one as most people will probably not know about it and 2 to try and find out how long certain peoples pads are lasting.

The reason i ask is a while ago i had collosion with a white van and was told the forks are straight but you need a new disc, all was replaced and i was on my way. But ever since my front pads have always felt as if they where binding ever so slightly. Since the accident ive been through 2 sets of pads from new and both havent lasted as long as i'd hoped (set one around 8kmiles ordinary riding, set 2 4-5kmiles touring/fully loaded miles), ive the XTR model but i still think this is a little on the low side of milage for a new set of pads? So whats everyone else getting.:toothy3:

I need to replace my front rotor sooner rather than later. The warping feeling I am getting during light braking is getting noticably worse so I need to order soon.

Looking around the net I have a few options.

All for XTX 320mm rotor

EBC direct with discount 137.65 delivered

Motorcycle Road & Race 128.21 delivered

Wemoto 161.94 plus delivery

Ebay/China 80.44 delivered to uk shores, add the VAT & delivery to my door all in 109.03.

These look nice but not sure on them (the Chinese option).

Anyone got any thoughts before I buy on the Chinese discs?
