I am ordering some fork spacer from Kev and he told me that if anyone is intersted in ordering a set, the actual workshop where he gets them made will charge less for a few more made, so I am going to order one set anyaway regardless but if anyone else fancies one please let me know. Kev will let us know the prices including shipping shorlty and there is a thread somewhere her with the review of those who tried them and I must say they were all more than pleased with the result.

Cheers

motonacio 02-05-07 21:30

I'm game for anything - but don't shoot me!

CaptMoto 03-05-07 11:42

Kev how much? :D

Kev 03-05-07 12:10

My mate normaly makes them up for AUD$50.00 per set. If we can get a few sets he will make them for AUD$35.00 per set. He said I am a pain just ordering one set at a time.

He can only make them up in June as he is out of the country on holiday & will only be getting back at the end of this month. So there is plenty of time to think about them if you want a set.

It will save you on postage if I can post one parcel to the UK with all the mods. As it normaly it costs AUD$18.00 to post one set to the UK. I can post anywhere in the world.

Payment is by PayPal request.

motonacio 03-05-07 12:29

He can only make them up in June

Suits me - I shall be back in the U.K. mid-late June until end September.

You're on.

SMario 18-05-07 08:41

Any pictures of those spacers somewhere?

Yes they do, the front end does not dive as much under braking. There also a gain for high speed riding.

motonacio 23-05-07 14:16

Thank you - it was given to us by her work colleagues after being in their office garden for two years.

But what about that pretty reservoir cover? - It'll match the new fork risers!

And what about the guitar - or aren't you into classical?

ManicMic 23-05-07 14:26

Nice resevoir cover there fella.

Where did ya find that if ya don't mind me asking?

My son got it from GW in Oxford when he collected my bike for me. It was a birthday pressy for my 60th. :happybday2:

ManicMic 23-05-07 15:21

It looks very nice. Wouldn't mind one of them on my XTX.

BTW what does GW stand for? Have they got a website or do you have a phone number for them? I gotta get one. I neeeeeed. I'm becoming a bit of a magpie for XT bits recently. lol.

motonacio 23-05-07 15:26

3 taken & one cancelation.

I had to pay for all 4 kits myself & have stuck no mark up on these kits.

So I have 1 kit up for sale. AUD$35.00 + postage

CaptMoto 24-05-07 00:20

I can appreciate a cancellation, no one is truly obliged but I am slightly embarassed that Kev had to pay in advance for these orders to be met.

All I hope is that, before these go on ebay that some of you will take on this opportunity to own a set of custom made fork spacers which have been designed by somoene who could be regarded as the world's best XT expert mechanic.

And for those who don't know how much 35 Australian dollars are in pounds, the equivalent value is: 14.51, so not exactly an astronomical figure and the postage I don't think it's going to be more than a few quid.

ManicMic 24-05-07 00:49

Yes! I'll have 'em.

Only problem is I don't do paypal but if Captain can sub me I'll give cash on Monday. I'll pay 20 cash cos of all the help I've received. Is that ok with you Guv.

CaptMoto 24-05-07 00:57

Yes if that is ok with Kev, I have no probs

Spot on - I've had mine on for two days now and the front end is so well-behaved I might not have to diet as much (sorry doctor).

Don't know about high speed - that's 80kph in my kneck of the woods but the mountain hairpins I have to ride to go anywhere are kept in vision under even heavy braking now.

Thanks a million Kev - you've done it again for my riding.

pauli 06-08-07 01:28

Will there be anymore group orders for these anytime soon ?

Cheers

Ask Kev what the status is on a possible group order otherwise make an appeal here to see if anyone else is insterested in getting their set together with you.

I have a few sets already made up, just waiting on me to go & collect them from the engineering shop.

If you want a set then that should motivate me in going to collect them.

Price is AUD$35.00 + AUD$18.50 Airmail postage including insurance, payment by PayPal.

The more that I can post to one address the cheaper the postage cost would be. Sorry no discounts on the spacers as that is the price I pay for them.

warrenf1 11-08-07 14:29

Me too!

Hello Kev,
Id also like to purchase a set.
Can you let me know how to pay you with pay-pal.
Ive only ever used pay-pal on ebay which does it automatically.
Cheers.
Warren.

PS. Pauli I live in Surrey, what part of Hampshire do ya live in we can possibly save a bit on postage.

CaptMoto 11-08-07 14:43

When Kev will give you his paypal email address by pm, you go to your paypal account and chose the "send money" feature, then you enter the email address Kev gave you and you can leave a reference saying this is warren and here is my payment for the fork spacers

But please remind Kev you are using an XTR and not an XTX as there might be a difference in the preload required due to the extra lenght in your forks.

Attached paypal example

pauli 11-08-07 23:19

Warren - I live in Fleet so not far from you. I'm definetely up for a bit of postage saving - maybe some other North Hampshire/Surrey guys would be too?

I've PM'd Kev with respect to his PayPal details.

Kev 12-08-07 00:20

Spacers

PM sent to Pauli with details.

warrenf1 12-08-07 18:57

Pauli,
I made a bit of a mistake and read the thread that takes you straight to Kevs E-Bay page before reading your last post and have ordered a set allready.
Sorry mate.:BangHead:

PS. Fleet is a nice area we must get together for a ride soon.

Cheers
Warren.

Thanks for payment Warren. Not all is lost. Pauli has not paid yet & I have PM him & told him that I can still post the two together, he will only have to pay AUD$7.00 instead of the AUD$18.50. Just waiting for payment & I will post both to your address Warren, then you guys can split the postage cost between yourselves. If you guys are not sharing post let me know & I will post your off ASAP Tuesday morning.
Kev
