YZF 250 Suspension?

Hi guys,
Been lurking around on this forum for a while now but I have a '10 tenere that needs work on the front suspension (possibly requiring new forks anyway, but waiting on a diagnosis from a mechanic friend) and happen to have access to the entire front end of an '08 YZF250 if I so desire it. I have seen mention of swaps but not neccesarily from the 250 bike (not sure how much of a difference there is), but a lot of threads seem to be old and missing pictures as well.
So really what I'm asking, is it possible/wise/worth the effort to do this swap, and what might be involved in doing it if it could be done.
Cheers

Sorry, I don't have a XTZ but did a KYB 48 fork (YZ250) conversion to a XTX just recently.

I own a XTR and XTX (along with about 10 other motorcycles, so I know what I am talking about) and converted the XTX as I have no use for a street bike. To match the additional weight of the XTX I decided to use Hyperpro SP-FO-1368 front and progressive Type 1022 rear springs. The result was incredible. Using a 2-1 exhaust I ended up with 310mm clearance.

I took both bikes to a test into the Sahara. As a result I will immediately get rid of the XTR and keep the converted XTX for offroad fun.

P.S.: could well be you have to change the top bearing -> see images.

Hello,

Nice conversion you have there :)

Would you mind show me where you mount the ignition key?
