XT660.COM 10th Anniversary Party 21st May 2016 - The Venue - IMPORTANT

ATTENTION ALL ATTENTION ALL

Pleiades is my witness on this, the short story is that since I have announced to the Ace Cafe owners that we intended to host our 10th anniversary party at their premises they have been nothing but unfriendly, unwelcoming, obnoxious, completely difficult to deal with.

I guess since their popularity and glory has grown in the last years, they have become callous and greedy.

5 years ago they would bite my arm off, when we had our 5th anniversary party the couldn't wait to have 40+ of our members dining there. Fast forward to 2015 and they made no effort to provide an ideal environment for us, they offered a date when there were 2 car meetings and no parking for bikes, then I said, well lets forget that, how about a day when you don't have cars, just bikes and he said Sun 22nd May but I can't serve you food at lunch time because it's my busiest time and I've got queues from the counter to the outside so you are welcome but your guests can only be served food at 6:00pm.

For those of you who knows me by now, my patience is on a short fuse, and quite politely I told him I didn't want to put my guests to those unwelcoming restrictions and that he could stick is CAFE right up his ACE.

--------------

So now I've got two much more welcoming venues I am working on pending replies from the owners I will announce those shortly as for the camping, forget Lee Valley we won't be nowhere near the A40 or A406, but think of it somewhere close to the seaside near a beautiful marina with yachts and boats... all to be revealed and PLENTY of space for not 100's but even 1000's of bikes. If I get this deal you guys will thank me. Even the food is better and cheaper than the ACE.

All we need to set out is the date.

We have a choice of Sat 21st or Sun 22nd of May

Either suits me! What does everyone else reckon...

steveD 06-11-15 20:34

I personally would like the Saturday.

Reason being that I will need to ride down on the Friday, have the evening camping and then go to the meet, at whatever time, on the Saturday.
This will give day riders the opportunity to come and meet with others and if the meet is at lunchtime, they will also be able to get home at a reasonable time.
To camp over on the Saturday evening will also give some of the more local members to come over if they cannot make the day time meet.
It will also give those that have come from further afield all day Sunday to get home.

Whaddya think?:sleep01:

Jacques le Roux 08-11-15 13:23

You don't have to bring anything, I will offer cake and bubbly and you get a free anniversary sticker, if you're lucky you might get your bike washed by my "pit girls", I've hired 3 of them for the purpose, but you'll have to tip something in their bra's :D
:incon_aargh[1]: :incon_aargh[1]:

dcarvoss 11-05-16 11:52

Sold...!

(You should have led with the pit girls comment).

I'll look back in the posts to see the exact 'where' and hopefully see you as soon as I can next Saturday.

Well I had to keep some surprises to the last moment, or people would have come for all the wrong reasons.

But I have to remind you guys these 3 girls are not being paid, they do it out of friendship for me, and as I said if you want them to wash your bikes and have a good look as they do it, please slip them a tip in their wonder bra's. Thanks

Pasta 11-05-16 21:48

What time do we have to be there?

We haven't set a time but anytime from say 12:00am onwards.

We plan to stay until the sun goes down, or earlier for those who needs to head back and not staying somewhere overnight.

Jacques le Roux 13-05-16 09:32

So meet up at Deans Diner at Chatham Docks ME44LL and then we all move on to the camp site later. Can you please post the campsite details again?

Send a pm to Pleiades (Pete)
:thumbsup[1]:

Jacques le Roux 13-05-16 21:32

Thanks for the quick response. See you saturday

Sandman 18-05-16 10:52

Unfortunately I'm having to call off my trip to the anniversary meet.

Why do elderly parents always pick these times to get blue lighted into hospital???

Anyhoo, have a great weekend guys and gals and ride safe.

Sandman.

dcarvoss 20-05-16 01:26

Any chance I could have the address of the campsite in case I'm a little late getting to the meet on Saturday? I could probably be with you at about 5pm for a couple of hours...
Cheers pepes

PM Pleiades he knows.

:hb: :hb: :hb:

Pleiades, why are people still asking for the poxy Campsite location a day before the event, I know some mothers do have 'em but can you please pm all campers with the location,

"verba volant scripta manent" as the latins used to say

Quick Reference to the above latin phrase here for those even more intellectually challenged: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Verba_...scripta_manent

They're all members who never signed up in the first place so we had know idea they wanted to camp! As far as I was concerned, everyone who needed to know as of last night knew what they needed to know.

I'm hitting the road shortly, so it'll be radio silence for a while...

dcarvoss 20-05-16 13:26

I personally wont be camping, but wanted to know where you will be if I am REALLY late !!

My first stop will be the Diner, and if I dont see a Herd/Flock/Murder/Troop of XT660's then I'll move to the campsite.

see you tomorrow.

Cheers, please remember that our people will only be at the diner on Sat not today so if you arrive today just head for the campsite or entertain yourself, but if anyone goes to the Diner today they won't find anyone except other revelers what have nothing to do with us. ;)
