I'll give it another try when the next change comes up, it never helps when your working to time limits.

MotionPro
I've been really impressed with the MotionPro bead breaker / tyre levers. I sweated and cursed trying to break the bead until I tried those babies. Well worth the investment. I also think they make it easier to install the tyre without pinching the tube as they are a nice slim profile. The anodised finish of the XT rims seem very grippy and to make the whole process harder than it is with smooth rims. Lots of lube helps. I had a real hard time getting a K60 Scout rear to seat once fitted, but again, lots of lube and 90psi with the compressor finally got it there! I'm no expert, but having also decided to do my own tyre swaps, it's already getting easier having now done about 3 complete tyre changes. I'd still be very reluctant to pile in to it out on the trail unless I really had to, but at least now, I know I could if I needed to. In the past I've lived in fear of it.

I don't know if you guys ride off road but in my opinion its a really good thing to know how to change tyre if you have a flat in the middle of nowhere lets say in between 2 river crossings :D
I have had some trouble getting the read wheel off bead but usually comes quite easily with irons.. I ordered the Baja No Pinch tool from states and will report back when tried it out. Sent from my Lumina using Tapatalk |
