Have i made a mistake ? R and X front springs hyperpro ?

I've bought some Hyperpro springs for the XTX, however looking, they're off an XTR...

Are they any use to me ?

Probably not. :icon_frown:

You could try them I guess, but I don't reckon you'll end up with much, if any free sag. They're about 40mm longer than the XTX springs if I recall right; you'd have to put them under a fair amount of compression (preload) to get the caps on.

oh poop.

I tried to PM you but your inbox is full ;).

The Hyperpro springs for the Z are a different part number again from R and X. AFAIK the R springs will also be too long for the Z and they are also a different start and finish spring rate as the R is quite a bit lighter.

From what I can make out none of the Hyperpro springs are interchangeable between the three XTs. They all have unique part numbers.

Suppose that makes sense, but a bit more interchangeability would have been handy ;).

Many thanks for the info though :).

I may have misread, but the Ohlins seems the same?

Sorry, do you mean the same as in "all three are different" like the Hyperpro, or they're all the same? ;)

weeksy 27-03-14 22:39

Same for all models? Maybe I read something wrong g or was blinded by hope

No, you might be right about the Ohlins?

I've had Hyperpro and the Ohlins fitted to my Z and the Ohlins require use of a spacer which is supplied in the kit. It is quite possible that Ohlins use the same length springs for all the models, but supply different length spacers to suit the forks/travel/weight of bike?

With the Hyperpro no spacer is used, so the springs I guess have to be the right (different) length for each model.

Have you cross-referenced the Ohlins part numbers for the three bikes?
