Majland, KTM hand guards fit the Tenere, you need to use a dremel tool or similar on the right hand one to make it fit around the brake master cylinder and move the switch controls and levers down the bars a bit (or get short levers, then everything can stay where it is). If you only want them for weather protection these are ideal and cheap :)

I plan to continue with the stock iron bar for the time being and yes weather protection is the highest priority. Adventure-spec got back to me with the weight of the "inner" bar ends (the round black ones between the bar and the guard). They are 130g. So the total of inner and external handlebar end weight are 310g where the yamaha ones are 450g. But to the 310g you also add some of the weight of the vps bar. So i've gone that way and ordered the storm and end bar weights today.

The joy of good gear last long after you have forgotten the premium price :-)

Hi Majland, I forgot to add that you can use the original bar weights with the KTM guards.

These are the vibinators & end weights I made to use with bark busters..
vibinators & weights are both made from stainless steel...
End weights are 25mm X 40mm / vibinators are 1/2" X 110mm...
They work very well along with the sand in the bars..
maybe a 80% decreass in vibes..

You made the vibranators yourself?? :104::104: Great work mate!
How much weight did you put on the external weights you made?

I have never weighed them... But they are heavy..
Yes I made them.... pretty easy... On a lathe...
1/2" rod...bore & tap a 8mm thread.. put a 2mm parting tool
half way though to give the flex groove..

Quick update.

I received the external weights ( http://www.barkbusters.net/products/186.html) last Friday and fitted them on Saturday morning.

Some pics of the new weights:

The set comes with three pairs of bolts, all with the same thread diameter but different lenght. I used the longest one, given that the new weigths add around 10mm.

After fitting them in literally 5 minutes, I went for a 30 miles ride and I have to say the they have made a big difference for me. Cruising at 70/80 mph (4k-5K RPM) is now a bliss and revving the bike is not an issue anymore.
Don't get me wrong, there are vibs there, but these are now totally bearable for me now. This is obviously always a personal thing.

It actually made me think whether it makes sense to fit the vibranator now, but since I already ordered it I will give a go! :rockwoot:

You have beet me with a couple of days - mine are scheduled to arrive tomorrow :-)

Your post made me sure that I've taken right decision to go with barkbusters even trough that have to get rid of the original bar ends.

(my new yamaha top box arrived today, so now I'll do what Yamaha says i should'nt - ride with all 3 boxes at the same time... The top box is primarily for storing the helmet/gloves when parked and the locks when riding. A small % - it will only hold my ordinary full face helmet and not my enduro style)

Working from home today so took the lunch in the shed and fitted the barkbusters. Since the bar is threaded it goes like
- Adapter with M8? scewed into the bar with a 17mm wrench
- Then everything else put on a long M6. External bar weight, alu bar, innner bar weight.
- Then the clamps arround the bar that with 3 bolt each, and cable ties for the cables.

They are very well made and they are a perfect fit - even for my abs with different tank than the non abs versions. I used a small ~3mm spacer between the alu guard and the tank when fitting them and they don't touch either the tank or the windscreen. I just used an extra washer between the inner bar weight and the adaptor because my Hein Gericke heated grips is a bit longer than standard. Otherwise the throttle would go back by itself.

The screen is a +8cm Puig

Next up is the bar risers ... already ordered and could be here any day
