Wind Protection

I do a 40 mile each way commute to work on my Tenere, of which 25 miles is motorway. Being 6'1" I am getting buffeted from the standard screen, so I am looking for better protection.
This has probably been discussed on many previous threads, but can anybody recommend me a better screen to take the wind over my head. Any experience with the Touratech Spoiler? Expensive, but any good?

Wind Protection

I've tried both tall screens (Puig) and screen top spoilers (TT and Aerotrim). I have to say that the spoilers do a better job with the buffeting. Aerotrim is half the price of TT item, but I prefer the TT one because you can take it off quickly for off road or when it's really hot for more air flow (but I did lose my first one in cross winds - so make sure it's tight!)

It's all very personal though, so I'd start by getting some card and gaffer tape and experiment first with size, shape and height before you shell out on anything.

I have the Yamaha tall screen on my XTR and I find the ride much improved

My tenere was exactly the same ( buffeting ) but I found most of it was coming
From slopes at front of petrol tank. I blocked under headlight with white
Perspex just above tow hook and it is a totally different bike,no buffeting at all..
As your riding just put your hand at top of slopes and you will feel vortex coming
Up towards your head.
Just what I found worked for me.

Thanks all. Some experimenting required.

i had the same problem with buffeting on my xtr at 55 plus.just fitted a touratech handle bar bag and what a difference my head is no longer getting blasted about still getting wind on the chest but it's no longer trying to blow me off the back of the bike a lot quieter too.

Try a smaller screen
. Strange but makes a big difference where the air hits your body.

There is NO one answer, so just try what suit you best.

And post results of course.

Metal Mule do a very good, taller, screen, I have one as I find the OE screen is simply too inadequate. Have a look on Metal Mule's site, it really is worth a look.

I use the slightly taller Givi screen on mine and it made a difference if it helps.
