I believe the ECU may of been changed over the years, get one of Kev's O2 mods and bingo no surging.

The surging has never been cured on the XTX & XTR, the only way to reduce it is by tuning the closed loop circuit with one of Dyno jets O2 optimizers or my 2012 O2 Controller.
