Imber Village and Salisbury Plain.

I had a day out in a damp but very mild Witshire on Saturday.
Plan was to visit the "ghost" village of Imber and then head over the rest of the Salisbury Plain training area.
I'll let the pictures do the talking-

Looks great. Done the Plain many times, but never been to Imber.

Do you have to check when it is accessible to the public?

Hello mate hows it hanging? We were up there on the Bakery Run the previous weekend. I have never seen so much water on the Plain. The pic below is normally a lane not a river! http://i882.photobucket.com/albums/a...ps990f7f16.jpg The mighty XTR rescuing a BMW: http://i882.photobucket.com/albums/a...ps4c5b6218.jpg

I'm good thanks.
I read all the reports on the bakery run including yours....looks like a great day was had by all.

Love the first picture, thats the lane that goes past the Great Bustard release pens.
Normally very wet with a deep gravel base but never seen It like that.....superb.

Looks good, have'nt been back there since you lead us around in 2009 (Devon Trf group). How do you find the Tenere compared to the WR you had? Just got myself a Tenere, quite fancy riding up from Devon and doing a day on the trails....

Hi TM

The plain ride-out with the Devon TRF back in 2009 went really well, and the weather god's were on our side as well from what i can remember.

The WR had to go as I'm planning a couple of trips away over the next couple of years. It was a cracking trail bike and fine on the road....but it was no long haul bike.

When I get the "Range Access" times/dates for the Easter period I'll post them up and see if we can sort out a XT660 Forum ride-out.

Cheers,
Andy.

That would be a cunning plan, I can TEC and maybe bring the van for recovery/repair duties if required as its on my doorstep. Is that the same tigerman that did the droves with us and Harty broke himself? if so , hello.

tigerman 13-01-13 20:08

It is that man Mr Hermy! Look forward to riding with you again and Mr Toms Dad....

tigerman 13-01-13 20:11

Devon Trf are arranging a weekend of riding in April for Trf members from other parts of the country. Harty and myself are hoping one of the groups will be for bigger bikes . Will let you know more as soon as I know,if you are interested?
