I'm an Oxford heated grips man but just changed bikes to a tenere and parents bought me a set of hein gericke heated grips. not too bad very much like oxfords. solid buttons to push and leds to tell you what heat setting your on.

but if your really looking heat get a set of bar muffs. i got tucano urban muffs the used these for 2 years of winter commuting. bit weird to get your hands in at first but grand after use. they completely cut the wind out and I used the heated grips on low and summer glove in minus temperatures.

Can you get muffs that are large enough to fit over handguards ??

Yes, Tucano muffs are designed to fit bikes with hand guards. I have some for my Transalp which has huge OEM handguards. They would fit easy over the slim Acerbis jobs on my XT660r. R

Hi there,
Thinking of heated grips second winter now...anyway, anyone knows if oxford 'original' will fit our xt660z's ? I have Yamaha handguards - any mods to grips required before fitting or they will go straight from the box?
Cheers

Yes I'm sure they will fit as all grip parts of bars are the same, only the central section can and do change in size. I also just bought some tucano 319 muffs, hands stay proper warm now with the grips on.

They do two different grips, the original that have been the same for ages, and they also did a 'sportsbike' which is now Premium (but with three variants of these , Adventure, Sports, Commute ) that is slimmer than the normal (original) grips.

The premium grips are about the same outer diameter as the original rubber grips on the bike, but 'grippier' than the original Oxford grips. Personally, I prefer them.

Never got on with aftermarket or original
(BMW) heated grips.
Found my solution with keis heated undergloves. Best 50 I ever spent.
