UK newbie

Hi all, at present I have an XT 600 1984. We tow it behind the motorhome to the French Alps each summer and do day trips around the cols and fire tracks.
We're looking for an XT 660R, a bit more power and a start button. I'll save my myriad of questions for the appropriate sections. Thanks.

Hi, Sally (my wife) and I have just bought an XTX 2011, blue, gold excel rims, MTC stainless rounds. Going to start doing all the typical mods and get some decent boots on it!

Excellent choise (I have the same colour and its lovely) and a great base I think. Sure the XTX is NOT an off road bike especially with the standard road tyres BUT Continental does make a semi off road tyre in 17" that you could fit if you want to make the bike slightly better at gentle off road tracks. Have fun!!!

Yep, that's me. Near Gatwick? Looks like we're neighbours.

Hi mash, in fact I think I have your bike. Don't worry we're well pleased, it seems well looked after. I hope you didn't rag it at 97 mph for too long! (just kidding), on the other hand I maybe completely wrong.
