Your confidence was well-founded. It appears to be fixed. It is a lot, lot better that's for sure. Nothing really seemed to be excessively worn and the stopper arm and bearing appeared to be ok. Putting the new parts in, I wasn't that confident it would have any significant impact, but it has, and I'm happy!

Glad to here it is sorted. Let's hope it stays that way.

I've done quite a bit of research into this gearbox malarkey, and it does seem more and more as though the stopper arm mechanism is the route cause of the problem. You did the right thing. At the first sign of troublesome gear selection... investigate the stopper lever assembly pronto.

i have this problem already 20-30.000 km so i thing my gearbox will survive the winter. The bike is not worth opening it completely, already more than 140.000km on the odo.
