XTZ Power Commander 5 Wiring Help

I am busy installing a new PC5 into my 2010 XTZ and I'm having difficulty with the documentation being built around an XTR.

I have successfully wired in the O2 Optimizer and found the TPS connector as well as the Injector connector. The one I am having difficulty with is the crank sensor connector.

I don't want to connect the PC5 to the wrong inputs and create a problem so I'm asking if anyone can point me in the right direction?

My best guess thus far is the 2 pin white plug I found under a rubber boot behind the rear brake fluid reservoir. If I trace the wires they appear to enter the crankcase somewhere behind the main drive sprocket. The service manual seems to indicate that this is the correct location for the crank sensor.

The documentation refers to the crank sensor connector being located under the LHS air box cover but on my XTZ the air box covers just open up the whole air box, hence my confusion.

Any help that anyone can offer would be appreciated. I won't be riding the bike anywhere until I am sure its safe to do so and I will still need to map it correctly.

As a final note, a point in the right direction for PC5 maps with O2 Optimizers installed would be appreciated greatly :)

Hi MadDog - as I recall, that is pretty much it - there was certainly one connector that went down there somewhere, and it was a right bloody fiddle to connect!

I don't have my bike at home at the moment, but fortunately I will be going to pick it up tomorrow, so if you're still stuck, I can take a look for you...

To be honest, as I recall, the connectors on the PCV loom will only fit into certain connectors on the bike anyway, so you shouldn't be able to do any real damage...

Thanks for all the help. I had to eventually resort to calling Dynojet for assistance. My PC5 is their latest incarnation that includes a crank position sensor connector as well as the FI and TP sensor connectors. This is to smooth out the spikes on throttle pump on some models.

Took me a while to find the crank position sensor wires and trace them but I now have it all connected and running perfectly.

For anyone that tries this with a new PC5, the crank sensor connector is a white 2 pin plug under the rubber boot behind the rear brake fluid reservoir.

Once again, thanks for all the help :)
