 Thanks. For road work though were they decent enough?(before the fall and cable ties of course)
Other than the KTM ones which are probably on the top of my list just now, I`m hunting for hand guards that are more for deflecting cold and rain, such as the ones you get as standard on the Transalp rather than the guards for off road protection. Are they off the shelf ones then? I had assumed you had cannibalized another bike for them. Kind of look like Beemer ones a bit? Any links for them? Always wondered why Yammy never provided decent hard guards as standard.... |
they were on the bike when i got it, i just looked at them and there is nothing on them in the way of a brand etc, so i have no idea, they mount on the grip end , no removal of the weight necessary, just loosen and the other end mounts to the control housing...but yes they were good to stop wind and rain etc, that coupled with the grip heaters and the right gloves i never had cold hands, even in the snow, like below

Lol, and I thought we got bad snow in Scotland :)
That makes sense about the hand guards though, as I`ve never seen anything like them for the Ten, especially after market...must have been added prior to them shipping it over. Oh well I`ll keep looking, but thanks for the pointers. :) Still jealous, especially now I`m reading your journey in more detail over on Advrider.. |
that wasn't heavy snow, this was the heaviest
http://dmh65.smugmug.com/RidingRTW/u.../SAM0889-M.jpg stories will continue may 2013, have to stop by when i'm in Scotland for a beer, it'll be around august next year |
:) More than welcome to stop by. Had to laugh a bit, as looking at your pictures from Nova Scotia etc, some of them looked like where I live and ride, in fact one just looks like Glen Coe. You can tell why they called it New Scotland :)
Safe riding :) |
leaving La Paz, ended up going down a street to go out of town which had the Saturday market, almost two hours to do about a mile or two but the sights were amazing...but to be honest Bolivians are not the best looking group in South America!!! :emoticons:

heading up to Machu Picchu and this is the road you take
http://dmh65.smugmug.com/RidingRTW/p...5998761-X2.jpg once up there the views.... http://dmh65.smugmug.com/RidingRTW/p...SAM2531-X2.jpg http://dmh65.smugmug.com/RidingRTW/p...SAM2532-X2.jpg http://dmh65.smugmug.com/RidingRTW/p...SAM2548-X2.jpg http://dmh65.smugmug.com/RidingRTW/p...SAM2558-X2.jpg http://dmh65.smugmug.com/RidingRTW/p...SAM2563-X2.jpg http://dmh65.smugmug.com/RidingRTW/p...SAM2565-X2.jpg so the thing they push about Machu Picchu is the amazing stone work and how well everything fits and you look and admire it unless you here a guy say..." have you ever looked at Lincoln Cathedral and the stone work there? It was built 300 years earlier than this!" - well that kind of ruined it for me...but i get his point http://dmh65.smugmug.com/RidingRTW/p.../L/800px-L.jpg after that comment all you can appreciate is the location http://dmh65.smugmug.com/RidingRTW/p...7stitch-X2.jpg and then get the money shot... http://dmh65.smugmug.com/RidingRTW/p...SAM2719-X2.jpg |
