Was this a Organnized Tour ? or did you plan it all your self and just meet up with that Group ?

because the shipping of the bikes was included with Nick Sanders tour i joined them, also thinking that riding along with him and his knowledge of borders crossings etc. and inclusive hotels on most days it would make life easy...i pretty much regretted it from day one, he was amazingly disorganised, so many things got screwed up because of him alone and being part of a large group was a bad thing. if you are thinking of doing something like have a max of four riders.

i have done plenty of bike trips myself so once we hit northern mexico and everything he was covering was done i took off, so i did around 12,000 miles with the group and the remainder of the ride solo, and once i was alone it was great i had more fun, met more people, had way more adventures and got to ride where i wanted when i wanted.

so that being said i take off and keep going in May 2013 ALONE!!!! and if i meet riders a long the way, great so be it, but if its like that then i always have the option to continue riding alone whenever i want

Organised tours are very popular and meet the needs of many, but there not for us.

First thing that puts me off is the cost ,I don't want to pay to follow someone or have them do all the planning . also having to ride with a group of riders that I don't know puts me off the most , I have to have trust in the capabilities of the riders I ride with.

We like to stop when we want to stop not when and where were told to.

Leigh and I always travel alone apart from this year when we took a small group of friends to Morocco.

We have a few friend's that are also leaving the UK around the same time as us next spring. we hope to cross paths on our RTW ride and maybe meet up for a few days rest.
Then we will be off out on to our own routes again.

Ride safe and Have fun
