Actually John, the bike in matt gray looks beautiful, just leave it like that, its grand.

Tony660x 08-02-07 19:42

John I think it looks very good in the matt grey. I think if you were to put the military stencils on it that would finish it off really well. I would not go overboard with the stenciling but a sublte XT660R on the tank/rad panel would complete it. For me this looks better than the blue and my bike is blue!

Looking in the gallery there is a military photoshopped XT and that looks brilliant. If I had the balls I would do the military thing also because the bike is suited to it especially the R version like yours.

10 out of 10 (stencilled up).

I'm with Fran, the Grey looks boss mate. I have uploaded a rough comp of the vignette idea in the gallery ( http://www.xt660.com/gallery/showimage.php?i=607), see what you think?

Nice job though, have you done a lot of spray jobs? Was it easy?

CaptMoto 08-02-07 19:45

I know, but I pulled your trick and mullered my gold ones with a clumsy paddock stand related mishap... So I'll be leaving it bare.

Sad truth is, that's the only trick I've ever really mastered :002:

Look very nice and shinny. Love the look of that backpack capt. Im one of these people who has about 10 different backpacks for holding the same sort of stuff, for different trips on the bike. Must be the inner women in me trying to get out, but instead of hand bags or shoes i choose back packs!!!

CaptMoto 21-01-08 11:35

yes that is the best rucksack I have ever had, they are specifically designed for sport and for motorbikes as you can see from their website

maxwell123455 21-01-08 11:59

nice nice, i just cant seem to not look at a backpack and think ohh that would be good for carrying this that and the other. At the moment got a cargo backpack like this

http://www.motorcycleworldl-spa.co.u...5_Rucksack.jpg

use it for uni as it can carry all my books, files and other + it has plenty of attachment loops incase i need to carry trousers etc if really wet. Also its got a massive sponge along the entire back so doesnt hurt, + got a wasit and chest strap so doesnt flap about in wind. Its not really 100% water proof but can take some rain until you need to attach the condom type rain cover on it.

Other bag i mainly use is a berghouse (something like that) freeflow 2 bag. Same idea as the cargo bag but i use it mainly for touring or day trips, got a rigid plastic back with mesh to flow air around, so can be used off the bike. Again plenty of loops etc chest and waist straps. Not 100% waterproof but has a massive pull over tin foil like cover and is great for being seen with.

but in red

I've got new stickers on at last.

Let me know what ya think. Good or bad. This is a bit of an experiment as my original stickers were pealing from day one. I have been told that they may only last 6 months so if they do peel off or fade then I have found someone that can make me some 7 year vinyl stickers in chrome.

http://i211.photobucket.com/albums/b...meStickers.jpg

I did go for a quick blast up to Box Hill this afternoon and I had 2 comments from different people in the first 5 minutes about my new stickers. I like em anyway.

CaptMoto 09-02-08 19:24

Looks wicked mate!! :sunny:

ManicMic 09-02-08 19:29

Cheers Captain.

I don't know if anybody else has noticed but there is a bit of a sun shadow from the old stickers. Anybody got any tips on how to remove them, if possible?

J_maker 09-02-08 21:09
