Reads to 16k (perfect for twin-spark pre 2007 XTR).

Numbers don't mean a lot - it is the position of the needle on the dial tells you all you need to know:-

1. No "locate the digits"
2. Focus on the digits.
3. Interpret the digits in relation to the range of interest.
4. Eyes back on road/track pedestrian/goat you've just run over.

Peripheral vision sees the luminous needle in the quadrant which tells you what's needed.

Powered from relay under seat, signal from orange ecu wire, bracket made from builders 'tie' metal tape, waterproof housing included.

(IGNORE _ Company I bought from no longer in business but I think this company sells similar) Mine was 35 two years ago.

Tell a lie - Rspec are still in business. motorcycle tachometer SBM52BLTA-MC

So thats just a generic Rev counter hooked up then?

Looks good to me. I've seen some nice ones reasonably cheap that read upto 8k.

Will have a think on it but thanks for the info :bunny:

Always thought about getting a rev counter but then thought that ive had the xt now for 3 years now and since i have a set of CCC cans i just listen to the engine breath hell out the pipes. Ok im maybe not getting that last 500rpm ever time i want to race a bit but how often do you ever really race a road bike to those sorts of rpms?? not very often.

It's not for Max..ing out - it's to help gear change at appropriate times in my case to keep in the torque when doing v.diff. mountain climbs/descents. I rarely see above 5,000 on my bike (just keep the needle in the upper middle quadrant for pulling and lower left for descents). I missed it sorely when in the Lakes 'cos I haven't got one on Blackie.

I'm only doing it for the giggles and the pwetty colours.

Oh, and my samples have been accepted and sent out so will sort the rest out :D

Quick update!

I've trialed the LED Part of it on my breadboard, works a treat and can set it pretty much to go from nothing to full between 0-2v and 0-6V input signal so hopefully it shouldn't be much more hassle from there.

(as in, I can set it so that all the LEDS are on at 2v, or upto 6v any anywhere between)

AND

I've had a play with the frequency to voltage generator this evening.
It's a real clever bit of kit. Been using my computers audio out to generate a frequency between 10hz upto 67 hz.
Funnily enough, it actually works! Wrapped a piece of wire around a phono lead and put a ground to it, so long as theres enough mV on the input, if I turn the frequency up or down the LED I fitted on the output of the voltage generator gets brighter or dimmer.

It's a clever bit of kit and can see how it'll controll a bargraph.

Will keep on chuggin' :hiding:
