Tin-bashing ---
Since fitting the tall screen and re-shaping the seat on my Ten I've noticed a vast improvement as regards beating the turbulence and pain in the bum that made 10,000 miles round europe such a trial last year.
The wind tunnel at the front of the tank was the next thing to get sorted. Today I tried my hand at tin-bashing - well alloy sheet bashing to be precise and now that ugly gap below the headlight has been filled in. I've tried her on full lock both sides and there's about 6mm clearance from the clamp bolt heads on the bottom yoke so it shouldn't be a problem at MOT time. It's eighteen months away anyhow. :icon_rolleyes: They are all minor mods but the bike is slowly coming round to being MY Ten :happy5: A couple of pics to show what I'm talking about --- http://i67.photobucket.com/albums/h2...eremods004.jpg http://i67.photobucket.com/albums/h2...eremods003.jpg Beauty is in the eye of the beholder or in this case the tin-basher :happy5: cheers - givit |
That's a very professional looking bit of tin bashing:eusa_clap:

What screen are you using?
I need to get a slightly taller one than standard.. Cheers and looks like perfect terrain for the Ten'. |
what screen ---
The screen is from Powerbronze --- very posh in Iridium Blue.
I'm colour blind but it looks alright to me. Sorry to take so long to reply but I just got back from Tiree tonight. It was well worth the visit. It's surrounded by horseshoe shaped beaches. This one is about one mile long --- http://i67.photobucket.com/albums/h2...Tiree168-1.jpg cheers - givit |
Tenere on the Isle of Tiree

http://i67.photobucket.com/albums/h2...m/Tiree055.jpg Couldn't leave my thread on 13 posts now could I? givit After a four hour ferry trip it feels like mid-Atlantic - but I'm still in the UK :BaseballHat_LNY2EG: http://i67.photobucket.com/albums/h2...m/Tiree042.jpg :icon_albino: Mines the one with the blue bits --- http://i67.photobucket.com/albums/h2...Tiree097-2.jpg :triplets: and the mile long beach to play on all by myself --- http://i67.photobucket.com/albums/h2...m/Tiree167.jpg :eusa_clap: |

Tenere on the Isle of Tiree 2
The dunes are so fragile - I had my walking boots and trekked this bit ---
http://i67.photobucket.com/albums/h2...Tiree160-1.jpg well worth it when I saw hares - snipe and other wild things :snorting: I got lucky and found this stoney beech at the end of a long rocky track --- http://i67.photobucket.com/albums/h2...m/Tiree095.jpg Well - long by Tiree standards --- One beach had a few boats --- http://i67.photobucket.com/albums/h2...m/Tiree178.jpg it was the main harbour on the island --- :tshirt: Some boats were older than others --- http://i67.photobucket.com/albums/h2...m/Tiree145.jpg but at least the nails held --- http://i67.photobucket.com/albums/h2...Tiree173-1.jpg and - I found my favourite boat complete with fishing rod - raring to go --- http://i67.photobucket.com/albums/h2...m/Tiree169.jpg an authentic Drascombe Lugger  There was one beach covered in litter --- http://i67.photobucket.com/albums/h2...Tiree191-1.jpg and shivering blokes & blokesses in fancy gear --- http://i67.photobucket.com/albums/h2...m/Tiree182.jpg with boards strapped to their feet --- http://i67.photobucket.com/albums/h2...Tiree186-1.jpg Yup! It's the RAF flying training school - the coalition has cut the allocation for jet fuel  Plenty of signposts - all single track roads with liberal amounts of gravel to keep the rider on the ball --- http://i67.photobucket.com/albums/h2...Tiree192-1.jpg there's even an odd chair about if it all get's too much :YellowWow_KKPB92: |
