This is going to stop my bike cutting out, when I roll off the throttle, isn't it? I suppose we can't be sure, but I hope it does.......

I think my ECU is the "11"....not 100% sure, but will confirm it.....

If you get a custom made fuel map made & it is mapped all the way to idle then it should not cut out with the now mod.

I have ridden nearly 800 miles with the new O2 sensor mod with my 11 ECU & my bike has not cut out once, how has yours gone Nigel?. Once I have finished the testing I will build a few different PC maps to go with the mod & we can add Nigels to the list.

Mines been absolutely fine. No stalling or cutting out.

I had mapped mine with the autotune to idle aswell as it was running a bit rich at idle and it sorted that out completely.

richardsracingmad 03-10-10 09:39

hey guys...just checked...my ECU is a "10". revs at 1450. still cuts out Kev.

the trouble is, we know my bike isn't correctly set up on the custom map...so this could be a Red Herring, so to speak....when your mod is ready, and fitted on my bike, only then will I get it re-dyno'd.

dazmatic 03-10-10 09:46

the Idle might be a little low, think I have mine set at about 1600.

By the way, thought you had an 11 ECU Richard?

"my bike is a 2008 fitted with a standard 5VK-8591A-11 ecu....for information purposes...."

richardsracingmad 03-10-10 09:49

i know...i was wrong....i think i got muddled up when i was looking at the other engine i bought, and was looking at another ecu....
Sorry, i will edit that post now!!!

dazmatic 03-10-10 10:01

No worries mate. Just threw me off cause 11 ECU's are fitted to 09 onwards and 10's for 07-08.

Greetings
First congratulations for their work and dazmatic kev .. I have a 2008 with power 3, exhausts and filters would also be interested in the sensor.

It is a very nice mod, a must-have in my opinion, but also remember that it requires a power commander. I don't know how many of all xt owners that run one currently (?). I will get a PCIII as soon as I can, and after that I will definitely want an O2 emulator before mapping it.

dazmatic 04-10-10 22:36

Well, actually, I'm not so sure about that.

This mod essentially prevents the surging from happening in the first place by stopping the bike from going into closed loop.

The bike will run with the mod, just without the surging. The added bonus is that if wished, you can map the full RPM range with a power commander and as I've found myself, my bike runs a bit lean with my mods and my power commander and autotune has remapped it, so you might even get away with just a Kev mod if a power commander isn't viable for yourself.

I'm not entirely sure about that mind, it's getting late and my head's banging to think to much.

But I'm sure Kev when he's about can clear things up with a fresh mind!
