will they warm up enough on a 40 bhp bike.....

I found if I gave my Avon shod bike the beans 5 metres from my drive the back end felt slippy i.e not warmed up (I am sure it did actually slip). 1 mile up the road they were perfect so I guess the other tyres will warm up reasonably quickly as well. It may only have 48hp but it weights a ton so either way its going to get warm by its loading.

as bad as this sounds, the avon would be a perfect choice, stick and off road useable.... but the thing putting me off............. god, they are ugly.:blob7:

look fine on the 21 inch wheels, but on the 17's, just dont look right, reminds me of the Yam TW125 and not an XT streetmoto..... (gonna get slated for this)

I sort of understand where you are coming from on the looks of the Avon tyre, as they do look a bit chunky and dont look like sports bike tyres. BUT they dont handle or feel like chunky tyres at all. Promise. :SpinHappy_15XK8L:They are Brilliant in the wet and Fantastic in the dry. :112:

I've had about 15 different bikes, lots of different tyres. I got my XTX new with the pirellis on, and hated them. Luckily they wore out after 500 miles. I fitted distanzias at the recommended pressures on this forum, and WOW!
I have never had confidence in corners in the wet like I do on this rubber. They are just rock solid, don't feel lumpy at all. Overcome your worries on the looks, ( I've grown to love the looks ) and get some. You'll never go back.
