This will obviously need further work as the maps available will not match my set-up but I am considering if it may be possible to drill and tap my exhaust to fit the wideband sensor to use the PCv or if that is not possible to make the best of my PCiii. So many possibilities and so much fun to be had fettling! I love this XT660. :luv[1]: |
Five extra hp by just bolting on a new filter!! Sign me up!! I'm not sure what the majority culture is with their XT660's but I doubt any "speed freaks" buy one and, to get that type of improvement, is just what is needed.

Nice gains there Dino.
How much HP did the modified XT700 make? I would expect an even bigger gain with a +2mm or +3mm throttle body on it. With this type of mod the more engine modifications you have, the bigger the HP gain will be had from the stage 3 air box mod, then running a stage 1 & 2 filter on a standard air box. A few questions, have you made provisions on the new air box to mount the rectifier & starter solenoid, as I can not see where they are to be fitted on the new air box. I also see you have removed the boost bottle on the intake pipe at the throttle body. On my bike as a 660cc with the same set up using the stage 1 & 2 filters, I got 4.69HP gain, so the stage 3 mod adds approx an extra 2.31HP, showing a 7HP gain. It's going to be good to see the gains on my bike under the same test conditions, comparing the stage 1 & 2 filters directly to the stage 3 air box mod on the dyno. http://i201.photobucket.com/albums/a...rsCCCPCIII.jpg |
About the filter?
Does it make any change in power or throttle respons if i switcht from a original to a DNA filter on a original xt660x 07' bike?
I have almost non experience with engines and stuff ;) BR SuperRetard |

If a PCIII is fitted + custom fuel map with the stage 3 air box, the gains are as soon as you open the throttle all the way to the red line. The more mods you add to the set up the greater the HP & torque. |
Looks like the next must have mod good power + torque gains just hope it doesn't have NOT FOR ROAD USE on it

Thank you for your kind comments, unfortunately due to the EU regulations we have to emboss, for race use only, but it will be difficult to spot it without removing the complete unit! So dont worry. The XT 660 gets better the more you add and this new DNA S3 kit will NOT restrict the air flow regardless your mods. Each DNA S3 kit will come ready to install and use; this means you will get all the hardware necessary and Dynojet PC3 & PCV MAPS for stock and race slip ons. If you are using a bigger throttle body or you want to fine tune your PC to suit better your mods and local weather conditions, it will be necessary to custom map your PC using Dynojet tuning link. I hope the above helps, Best regards, Dino |

Hi Kev, The XT 700 made around 60 ps with a stock throttle body and then we found that the clutch was slipping progressively starting at around 4000 rpm..! so we had to stop and now we are waiting for the replacement parts. I am sure it can pump out another 5-6 ponies with a +2 or +3 throttle body, but it is up to the happy owner to continue not us. We already thank him for donating the bike for testing. We have also made provisions for all the parts that bolt on the left side of the air box. The ECU and the rectifier bolt directly on the left side cover using the stock bolts. The starter solenoid is attached on the upper left side of the air box via tie raps that go thru dedicated holes. Also we have added a very important part, a special adapter that goes on the throttle body and allows the rubber intake to adapt smoothly to the diameter of the throttle body. This adapter has a 49mm diameter on the throttle body side and 51mm on the rubber intake side; this means that if you are using the std throttle body you have a smooth transaction, no steps. If you have a bigger throttle body then you simply modify the diameter using a lathe, from 49-51 to 50-51 or 51-51..! Without the need to grind or modify the rubber part. The boost bottle is not used on our S3, our rubber intake has an entirely different design it is conical and has a different tuned length! And as you have seen it works fine! Kev, be patient soon you will have one of these S3 babies to test, use for your bike and send us your opinion. Best regards, Dino |

Dear XT660.COM forum members.

This S3 kit is finally completed tested and already our production department has produced the first batch!
