That last one shows an impressive gain in torque just where you want it, is that just with PC, map and DNA filters?

Freez 14-07-09 17:14

Yes, in a sense, but you will not gain that amount of power with the normal PCIII, Mapping and DNA filter mods that are currently available for the XTZ. I am working in another mod to release the amount of power you see in the last run.

I have not even touched the exhaust system as yet. The exhaust is stock.

Also to clear something up. When I talk DNA stg2 I don't imply the stage 2 filter you use on the XTX and XTR. Those filters do not fit the XTZ. I am talking about the DNA filter and cover for the XTZ.

Cheers Freez, thought that was the case, curious to know what this other mod is so will be watching this thread.

I'm not keen on replacing the exhaust, too much cash and don't like the look of any I've seen so far.

Bolt on power - Top stuff.

Tell the truth skunkmoto you where just jealous of mine and thomas (pegaso) exhausts notes!!!!

It is nice and they do open up a bit of more mid range in the XTX/R, also they look miles better

Two things have been delaying the outcome.

My friend Jon is waiting for some custom bits for the exhaust pipe he plans on building for the XTZ.

He finished the special new air cleaner, but since we are waiting for the exhaust pipe, we have not taken the time to see what the filter alone does to the power output. We tested the bike the last time with better intake flow and the stock pipe, so we know what it is suppose to make. No point in proving what we already know.

Also, DNA apparently is ready to release a stage 3 filter for the XTZ. So, you will be able to buy the upgraded intake over the counter soon.

So, once we get the new exhaust bits, we can start testing again.

Hi Kev, Freez,
Interesting following your work Freez, thanks for sharing it.
Looking at the way your "secret" mod gains & loses through the rev range I'd guess you're playing with inlet trumpets ?
Cheers, piggar.
